The famous alternative trek to Machu Picchu. The trek is located in the Vilcabamba mountain range. The trek passes through stunning landscapes varying from the cloud forest to the high mountains. Along the way are fantastic views of second highest mountain in the Cusco area, Salkantay (Wild mountain) standing at 6.215 meters. This tour is for the adventurous. It passes through little visited areas and combines culture and tradition with the incredible flora and fauna. You will be in the real Andes and the perfect conditions to get a sense of the life in the area.

Day 01: Arrival and Cusco city tour, Sacsayhuaman, and nearby archeological sites.
Duration: 5 hours
You arrive in the city of Cusco and are taken to your hotel, where the rest of the morning is free time to rest and to acclimate yourself to the elevation.
At 13:00 Hrs. We will pick you up from your hotel with direction to first point of visit, where we will know the imposing Cathedral of Cusco. Later, we will pass to know the Sun Temple or Qoricancha; place that keeps a syncretism among Inca culture and the compulsory impost of colonial times. Currently, this temple of the Sun, it is known as Santo Domingo temple.
Finishing this visit of religious sites with Inca vestiges, we will pass to known the four ruins circuit; that is located to 20 minutes of Cusco city, where we will see the archaeological and majestic places of: Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. Ending up our tour at 18:00 hrs.

Day 02: Sacred Valley of the Incas - train to Aguas Calientes.
Duration: 8 hours aprox.
At 08:00am. we will pick you up from your hotel for begin the tour to Sacred Valley. Crossing by beautiful viewpoints and make the stop in our first destiny, that is the Sacred Valley viewpoint. From here, we will have the pleasure of witnessing the snowcapped mountains of Chicon, Veronica, and Pumawanca, also, we will have an extensive view of whole Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Then, we will visit the archaeological place of Pisaq and then the famous Pisac Market after this visit will take the bus to Ollantaytambo, both of them have different Inca constructions and the market places.

Day 3: Cusco – Mollepata - Sayapata – Humantay Lake – Soraypampa Camp
trek distance: 16 km aprox
We will leave from Cusco approximately between 4:00a.m. A bus will take us to the town of Mollepata (2900 meters above sea level) where we will arrive approximately at 8:00 in the morning; we will stop for last minute supplies, leg-stretching or to use the restrooms. We will continue to our trek starting point, Sayapata. We will meet with our support staff, and they will load the equipment on horses and mules. Around 9:00 a.m., we will begin our walk toward Soraypampa (3850 meters above sea level). During the trip we will have panoramic views of the majestic Salkantay, other mountains covered with snow, and the Valley of Apurimac River. About 1:00p.m., we will have a Peruvian lunch. After lunch, we will continue hiking toward Humantay Lake for 3 hours aproximately; this is a beautiful lake in the mountains. We will come back to our camp where the tents will be ready for you as well as your dinner.

Day 4: Soraypampa – Chaullay Camp
Distance: 18 km aprox
Today, nature will change drastically from dry sceneries to snowy peaks and tropical areas. After a nutritious breakfast, we will start the most difficult part of the trek. We will start the hike around 7:00 in the morning. We will hike to a place called Pampas Salkantay, then go toward the left side of the snowy peaks of Umantay located next to the Apu Salkantay. At midday, we will be on the highest point (4600 meters above sea level). We will appreciate spectacular views of the mountains and the imposing snowy peaks of the Salkantay (6264 meters above sea level) which is known as the second highest point of the Cusco region. Around 1:00 p.m., we will have our lunch, in the area called Huayracmachay. After a trek of approximately 3 hours, we will arrive to our camp in Challway (2920 meters above sea level). Around 7:00p.m., we will recuperate from the trek and eat dinner.

Day 5: Chaullay – La Playa – Aguas Calientes
Distance: 14 km aprox.
Around 5:00a.m., we will start our trek and we will enjoy the beautiful sunrise. We will walk for about 5 hours toward Playa Sahuayaco and during this period; we will observe a town called Collpabamba, also called the "Forest Cloudy Brow" where waterfalls, fruit-bearing trees, varied flora, and birds can be observed. If we are lucky, we will be able to observe the famous bird called the "Cock of the Rocks'. Once at Playa Sahuayaco, we will take a local bus to drive us to the hydroelectric train station. At around 1:30p.m., we will have our lunch at the hydroelectric. We will take a train from the hydroelectric to the town of Aguas Calientes (2000 meters above sea level). Here, you have the option of going to the thermal hot springs. We will have dinner at 7:00p.m. And accommodation at the comfortable HOTEL.

Day 6: tour in Machu Picchu & Haynapicchu – Cusco by train
Duration: 6 hours aprox
At 5am breakfast and half hour later aboard the first tourist bus to drop us to Machu Picchu main door, and to be the first visitors Inside Machu Picchu archaeological site you will have complete guided tour during 2 Hours of this spectacular and mystical place. The guided tour include walk through the different section such as the urban sector, the agriculture sector, and the religions zone was used by the Inca Culture. After to get 2 Hours guided tour in Machu Picchu you will have free time to explore by yourself. According with the time and your feeling you can coordinating with the tour guide climb to Huayna Picchu (Young Mountain) this climbing take around 1 hour to get the summit from where you can have the best panoramic view for photos of all Machu Picchu and of deep green canyon surrounding the sacred Inca City..If you are interested in climbing to this mountain, you should book in advance and pay US$ 15. ..At according time descend to Machu Picchu and then free time to explorer on your own. At mentioned time aboard a tourist bus to descend to Aguas Calientes town..Train schedule (leaves at 4:43pm / Arrives to Cusco at 8:20 pm) upon your arrival to Cusco, transfer back to your own hotel.

What to take
