Day 01: Day bus Lima to Huaraz - Arrival to Huaraz – Night in Huaraz.

Trip by bus Lima to Huaraz, arriving at 21:00 about and then transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Huaraz

Day 02: Huaraz - Lake Willcacocha (half day hike)

Our guide will pick up you at your hotel after breakfast with our transportation and we’ll drive about 20 minutes southeast of Huaraz to the bridge of the Santa Cruz Village where we will start ascending to the lake Willcacocha . The hike is a gradual ascent up on a local trail for about 2 ½ to 3 hours. Along the way you may expect to meet local Quechua people still wearing their traditional colorful Andean clothes. You’ll pass close to their traditional adobe houses and see how they have lived for countless centuries surrounded by richly green farm lands where they grow their products as: wheat, corn and potatoes. Upon arriving the lake, you will be amazed with the magnificent views of the Cordillera Blanca mountain range with its highest mountain Huascaran at 6768m/22,205ft. At such a vantage point, you will have the perfect lookout point for enjoying the surrounding breath taking views and shooting some “10 on the drool scale” photos and we have lunch enjoying the panorama view, before we begin our easy descent to the Shansha Village Bridge trailhead. On our way down you’ll have the great view of the valley below and of the Cordillera Blanca peaks accompanying you. Our private transportation will be waiting to take back to Huaraz Hotel.Total time of this acclimation journey is approximately 6 hours.

Day 03: Huaraz - Pitec - lake Churup - Huaraz
50 min (by car) 5 - 6 hours (hiking)
Drive up on the dirt road to the parking place at Pitec ( not a village , but a few farmhouses),along drive we pass through traditional village of Unchus and Llupa with its traditional adobe houses and reach farmlands, there is opportunity to see local quechua people on their traditional clothes and working land with their hands. Then as we reach Pitec , after checking with the Huascaran National Park range, start ascending following the path over the long ridge. After about 1 ½ you reach a steep an rocky part, to the left of the water fall. From there, you reach lake Churup after a quite intimidating 45 minutes climb. This climb can be a real challenge climb , to avoid this steep part, there is an option to climb more to the left where is a a kind of metal rope that helps to climb. Then as you arrive to the lake will be impressed for the beautiful view of the lake and landscape sourrounded.
Spend time walking around lake side , take pictures, relax and have box lunch enjoying the nature. Then return on the same way back to Pitec , where our transportation waits to drive you back to Huaraz hotel.

Day 04: Huaraz – Cashapampa – Llamacorral (3800m/12464ft).
3 hours (by car) 4 - 5 hours (hiking)
You are picked up at your accommodation and begin the journey with a spectacular scenic drive along the Callejon de Huaylas Valley to the village of Cashapampa 2900m which is the starting point of the trek (3 hours drive). There are opportunities for photo stops along the way. From Cashapampa we start to ascend steeply for about 2 hours and then the track levels out, we climb steadily along the Quebrada Santa Cruz to camp at Llamacorral 3750m. 5 hours walk.

Day 05: Llamacorral – Jatuncocha – Taullipampa (4200m/13776ft).
5 - 6 hours (hiking)
An easier hike up the Santa Cruz valley to our camp at Taullipampa 4250m. 5 hours walk. It is generally flat and we ascend just the last hour towards the camp. We walk past the beautiful Jatuncocha Lake. Our camp is situated near at the base of the beautiful nevado Taulliraju Mountain and we are also surrounded by other peaks such as Paria, Artseonraju, Rinrijirca, Quitaraju and Alpamayo.

Day 06: Taullipampa – Punta Union Pass (4750m/15580ft) – Cachinapampa.
7 - 8 hours
We ascend steadily for about 3 hours on a good trail to the Punta Union Pass 4750m. We can feel the effects of the altitude as we reach the pass. From the pass we have very close views of the big mountains of the Cordillera Blanca. From the pass, we have a long descent passing two small lakes and then coming down into the Huaripampa Valley to camp at Cachinapampa 3800m. about 8 hours walk.

Day 07: Cachinapampa – Vaqueria – Huaraz.
3 hours (hiking) 4 hours (by car)
An easy walk down the Quebrada Huaripampa Valley where we pass by many farm houses and see a lot of local people, children, sheep, caws, goats and donkeys on the path. We then ascend for about an hour to Vaqueria 3700m 4 hours walk. We take our private transport over Portachuelo Pass 4767m and then down the steep zigzag road to the beautiful lakes of Llanganuco. We then return to Huaraz. About 4 hours drive. At the aftertnoon take a shower at the hotel in Huaraz.
At night transfer to bus terminal, bus to Trujillo.

Day 08: Arrival to Trujillo – City tour historic centre.
Arrival to the City of Trujillo, meet and greet by our local representative that will take us directly to our hotel , after the check in you will received a short pre briefing of your trip . At time we will start our city tour of Trujillo.
Our second visit will take place at the Cassinelli museum, a great private collection that has on display unique pieces from the different cultures that thrived on the north of Peru about 2000 years ago. At this remarkable museum you will be able to see genuine ceramics from the Moche Culture representation various types of animals, musical instruments, human deceases, different human races from ancient times and fine erotic scenes. This museum shows pieces mainly from the Mochica, Chimu and Recuay Culture. The Cassinelli museum is undoubtedly a small treasure of the city of Trujillo. Later we will drive our vehicle to the center of the city where we will visit the house of the emancipation, a historic place where the precursors of independence met for the forthcoming independence of Peru. In the interior we will be able to observe a beautiful mock-up that shows the historic center of Trujillo during the colonial epoch.
Then we will visit the Calonge house or Urquiaga house, one wonderful construction of neoclassic style that once housed the liberator Simon Bolivar. In the interior of this colonial house we will appreciate Simon Bolivar’s desk, pottery collection and other interesting relics.
Finally we will do a short walking tour around the main square of Trujillo and will be able to see the cathedral Trujillo, whose foundation dates from XVII century. at time Dropp off at your hotel.

Day 09: Moon & Sun Temple - the pre-Inca city of Chan Chan - Beach of Huanchaco.

After breakfast. Excursion 15 minutes South of Trujillo to visit the enormous adobe constructions built by the Mochica Culture in the 5th century, called Temple of the Sun, considered the largest adobe pyramid in Peru and the Temple of the Moon, housing an extensive burial ground and some fine polychrome murals in which their deity is often printed. Is believed that both were complementary, one administrative and the other religious. Proceed to Huanchaco Beach, well frequented by beach-goers and surfers, you will have the opportunity to Trujillo Tours - Chiclayo Tours, Peru Toursappreciate the local fishermen surfing the waves in their traditional "Caballitos de Totora", little reed boats used for fishing since pre Inca times, by Northern Peruvians during lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the largest mud archaeological complex of the pre-Hispanic America, Chan Chan, ancient Capital of the Chimu Empire (13th Century), visiting the Temple del Arco Iris, the site museum and the Tshudi Palace. After this full day trip we will drop you off at your hotel.

Day 10: Trujillo to Chiclayo: Huaca Rajada and the Royal Tombs of Sipán

Early in the morning, after breakfast, transfer to Trujillo bus station to take the bus to Chiclayo (2 hours 30 minutes approx.). Upon arrival, transfer to your selected hotel.
After Check in We will continue our route for 40 minutes from Chiclayo to Visit the archaeological complex of Tucume or Valley of the Pyramids, an important archaeological complex of the Lambayeque Culture (BC 1,000 / 1,350 AD), consisting of pyramids from which the extensive pre-Columbian urban site can be surveyed.
After a typical Northern dishes lunch, begin excursion to the impressive Necropolis of Huaca Rajada, a Mochica funeral centre where a great number of tombs have been discovered and where the tombs of the Old Lord of Sipan (3rd Century) and the Lord of Sipan (5th Century), famous for its objects in gold and semi-precious stones, were unearthed in the decade of the 1980's by Peruvian archaeologists led by Dr. Walter Alva. Transfer to your selected hotel.
Return to our hotel in Chiclayo. overnight.
